1.Elixir is the Currency of Clash Royale
Every card has an Elixir cost. Every card deployed by your opponent creates an information point about their remaining Elixir. Top players track Elixir constantly — knowing your opponent played their three most expensive cards in 30 seconds means they're at 0 or negative Elixir. That's your window to push aggressively with zero defensive response available.
2.Positive and Negative Elixir Trades
A positive Elixir trade means you countered a card with a cheaper card. Example: Skeletons (1 Elixir) shutting down a Mini P.E.K.K.A (4 Elixir) — you traded +3 Elixir ahead. Compounding positive trades creates the elixir advantage that fuels an unstoppable push. The inverse — spending 5 Elixir to counter a 2-Elixir card — is what kills your momentum and causes losses you can't explain afterward.
3.Never Play Reactively Into Full Elixir
If your opponent has 10 Elixir and you play a 7-Elixir card, they can respond with their most expensive push card immediately. A fundamental rule: don't play expensive cards when your opponent is at 8+ Elixir unless you're launching an offensive push with full board presence. Playing into full elixir hands is the most common mistake of players stuck in the 4000–6000 trophy range.
4.Double Elixir Execution
The final 2 minutes (Double Elixir Time) is where pre-planned execution matters most. Know your double elixir push before you enter it. Ideally, you enter double elixir with at least 2 more Elixir than your opponent. Your push should be your win condition card + the heaviest support combo your deck has. Respond to your opponent's counter by cycling back to your support unit faster than in single Elixir time — double Elixir is about overwhelming, not trading.
